My experience at Rock in Rio 2004

by Paula Sousa

It was a hot, hot day, I was very excited because I had a dream to see 1GL playing live, but the tickets were to expensive....

One day before the opening of Rock in Rio two tickets arrive at the magazine I work.

No one wanted that two tickets, so the director gave it to me (she knew that I wanted so much to go) Lucky me!!!!!...

I sent one e-mail to Jamie to get sure about the hour of the show, because it was announced at 17h 30m but it was only at 19h 30m. I get out of the work at 18h, and I ran to Rock in Rio.

When I arrived I went to the Better World Tent and waited, and waited, and waited, then I saw Jamie leaving the back stage... I was so excited I couldn't move, so my husband Jorge, (he is not so shy as I am) ran and talked with Jamie...

It was fun, fun, fun.

Has they were acting I think they were a bunch of "good, good fellas"; I can hardly find words to describe the good feeling they passed to the audience...

The show was short, short, short; very very good with lots of emotions (or it was my imagination?????)

Has they were playing the next day in Roots tent and I hadn't the ticket to the next day, Jamie gave two tickets for 29th May.

We waited, we saw the final of Paul McCartney and waited to the final to see Giles Peterson in the electronic tent - that was also really good!

The next day we went to Roots tent - but unfortunately there was no concert - It was cancelled. I don't know why!!!!????? No one gave us no explanation...

We went to the place we had stayed with them the day before and asked one Brasilian woman about the 1GL staff, she told us that they had to move, gone away....

Sad, sad, sad - : ( ....

We saw the concerts in that day, but it was not the same as if we had see the group 1Gl....

And we went home ....

And that's all it was good till the end better of course on Friday : )....

(sorry about my English but in the morning I'm silling a sleep : ) )
